Storm Zombie Yoda

Hi guys! I haven't posted here for ages, but as any Jedi knows, the force is always present. You don't need me to tell you about Star Wars; it's all over the net, you can't avoid it. Well I've missed some great stories, but just when you think there's a drought of Star-Wars-related material, more is always there!! So I'm posting this one now; it's a halloween costume of a Storm Trooper with a twist...it's a zombie!! Who would've ever thought that someone would think to pair Star Wars with zombies. From the look of the ID card, this Storm Trooper is trying to impersonate Yoda.

There are many porn parodies of popular TV shows and films, and now Star Wars fans will be happy to hear that there is now a Star Wars XXX porn parody! I can't believe there wasn't already one, but this sounds amazing. The scene list is very interesting, and this will surely become an instant classic with the first scene starring Leia and Darth. Yeah, it's pretty wrong...but yet so right!

Millenium Falcon Guitar

This is a custom-made Millenium Falcon guitar. It's awesome, it's got a Millenium Falcon toy with working lights and sounds with an R2-D2 headstock. The chap who made it has made a great little video demonstrating the guitar he made. The Force is strong!

Uncut Hope

I have not watched this yet, but it seems very exciting. This is a completely fan-made recreation of Star Wars: A New Hope. Each fan contributed a 15-second scene, and hopefully the result is a 2-hour masterpiece. Chewie Chat

Chewbacca is not known for being a talkative Wookie, or whatever species he is. In fact, it is rumoured that the gnarling sounds that Chewbacca is famous for were produced by foley artists torturing a caged bear. However, we should not ignore the pivotal role of Chewie in the Star Wars movies as Han Solo's loyal sidekick. Now the internet has a fitting tribute to Chewie, as the cartoonist Doug Savage has produced a cartoon of all Chewbacca's dialogue from Star Wars. As you would expect, the dialogue is not in English or any known language, so the cartoon seems to be intended as some kind of joke, but to what end is not entirely clear.

Trek VS Wars - an update

The rivalry between Star Wars and Star Trek has recently been expressed through William Shatner and Carrie Fisher. I did an earlier post on the subject, and you can revisit it here. Now Mr Sulu AKA George Takei has given his input into the matter with a nice video and which he offers these wise words:

Fellow star folks, cool it down and shut your big wormholes! Each is wonderful in its own special way.

I agree, Shatner should shut up. Anyway, it's a cool video and Sulu is pretty funny. He wants to unite the two star camps against a common enemy: Twilight. I don't know what the star folks can do about the Twilight juggernaut, but it's a completely different type of movie. Who would you rather see: Princess Leia, Captain Kirk, or an emo Vampire?

Star Wars Christmas

It's almost Christmas, and who could forget that wonderful Star Wars Christmas Special starring Chewie and all his Wookie pals? Not to mention Bea Arthur's stunning performance, it was a very special festive sensation in all its kooky glory. As Adam Frucci says in his great post at Splitsider, it's a bit like a Tim and Eric episode; kind of surreal, goofy humour. Well here you can watch it again on Google Video and relive the magic!

Darth College Carol

The students at Algonquin College are studying hard for exams, when suddenly Darth Vader appears with a Santa hat and an electric guitar! He plays a few power chords and then conducts an array of disciples in a rousing rendition of 'Carol of the Bells'. See how he holds the entire library in his Force-Grip and shows that there truly is no limit to his power!

Cello Hello

Finally some high-class Star Wars references! This is an amazing video of Steven Sharp Nelson playing the Star Wars theme on cello. He plays both the Jedi and the Sith parts, and it's all acted out really real; completed with lightsabres for the cello bows of course, and lots of other cool action. I like it when Darth Vader turns up and starts playing Cantina Band on the accordian, and Chewbacca also features. Steven Sharp Nelson makes other videos as The Piano Guys, and he ends the video with some Jedi mind tricks and attempts at hypnosis to further The Piano Guys' Agenda.

The above was high-class, now the standard is very much lowered. There is this pretty dumb Youtube video response by MeganSpeaks, in which she asks whether you would rather be Jedi or Sith.

Star Wars Christmas

This is a pretty awesome home-made comedy video by a true Star-Wars fan. The story is great: while playing Skyrim, Francis is interrupted by his mum asking him if he wants to open some Christmas presents. Although Skyrim is an absorbing game and he seems to be quite a gamer, who could resist the lure of opening presents early? Not this guy, and it looks like this would be the only possible reason (besides necessities) that he'd willingly stop playing. See his eyes light up when she gives him two presents, which unwrap to reveal Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader lightsabres. When he is unwrapping one, he quite rightly says "This better not be that Qui Gon Jinn shit." Luckily it wasn't. The rest of the video consists of Francis going nuts and trying to duel his disabled brother, who is 'the worst Vader'.

This is actually, youtube user boogie2988 and he has a channel with a lot of videos and playlists. He does lots of videos playing this Francis character, but he also does serious videos. Even though this is meant to be funny and is scripted, only a Jedi could be this convincing..

Infinite and yummy village faces deathstar attack!

It was a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away when I last posted to this blog, well it's still a galaxy far far away, but now The Force has moved this young Jedi to make another attempt at the perfect Star Wars blog post.

I just have to convey my deep appreciation and very real pleasure when I lay my eyes upon this edible - and electric - tribute to Star Wars! This is a skillfully constructed chocolate, breakfast cereal, and gingerbread Ewok village and dazzling green LED deathstar! I can't say enough how magnificent this is; this fan has gone to such lengths to affirm their love of Star Wars, but also has done so well with it to create a priceless - and yummy, by the look of it - artefact. This is really an amazing use of The Force and impressive to say the least! The Ewoks look so cool and cute and are so well detailed they could even be toys if they weren't chocolate; there are even C3PO and R2D2 hangin' out with the 'woks!

This is the creation of baker extraordinairre Darcy at the Infinite Yums blog, and I also understand he received assistance from an entity known as Lemur on the deathstar. He built the Ewok village for a charity auction, and I'm sure it will fetch a good amount. Here is a great photo of the beautiful village but there are many more on their blog, and you can also read up on the whole process. Great work, Darcy and Lemur!

Gingerbread walkers on Hoth

Following on with the edible theme, here is a gingerbread AT-AT! This edible walker was created by the Black Market Bakery, and is on display at Orange County's Discovery Science Museum. There have been many impressive AT-AT creations that I haven't posted about and people are clearly fascinated by these mythical beasts, so I might post some of them. This is a great one, looks yum too. It reminds me of the old days in the battle of Hoth when these fearsome walkers used to patrol the streets. I'd like to see a snowspeeder trip this one up; gingerbread everywhere!

Trek VS Wars

Watching this video of William Shatner talking smack about Star Wars is almost sickening, but I feel I have a duty to show it. Seen here, Shatner sounds off about his delusions of grandeur with regards to the legacy of Star Trek. According to Shatner, Star Trek is far superior to Star Wars, and he also says Star Wars is derivative of Star Trek. The nerve of this guy at age 80 to still be carrying around his old grudge with Star Wars. Get over it old man, Star Wars kicks Star Trek's ass! Don't even get me started about the giggling - and possibly flirting - interviewer.

Leia strikes back

Carrie Fisher - rightfully disgusted at Shatner's attitude - has posted a video response to William's original video. In this video, her interviewer is much cooler and she is funnier and more sensible than Shatner could hope to be. She even makes a somewhat funny joke: Klingon sounds like a laundry detergent. Anyway, she debunks Shatners claims that Star Trek is superior. As she says, it's not even in the same league, and the Star Wars merchandising is much better. In your face, Shatner!

Shatner's last retort
This is where it stands now. At the time of this posting, just a few days ago, Shatner posted a reply to Carrie. Here Shatner resorts to immature comments about Carrie being skinny and so on, and we get to the heart of the matter. In this video, Shatner admits that he wanted to play Darth Vader - it would have been horrible - but was denied, and this is the real reason for his personal vendetta against Star Wars. He has no real arguments other than empty premises he offers to somehow validate his arrogance, but he better step off!

The Sith who Stole Christmas or The Grinch who Stole Sithmas

Here is a funny(?) little video outlining Darth Vader's similarity to that nasty Grinch bastard. It's a montage of clips showing the ruthless Vader doing mischief set the the Grinch music song; thus implying that Darth Vader is the Grinch. As far as I know, they've never been in the same room together, but I think Yoda looks much more like the Grinch.

Wow, what a cool treasure! Since I'm on such a roll posting about AT-ATs, here's an example of the quicker and more compact AT-ST. This is not your usual garden-variety AT-ST - okay well I guess it is because it goes in your garden or backyard - but this is an actual treehouse of one! That's right, someone has lovingly built this Star Wars structure as a cool cubby for kids or even older kids.

The AT-ST is a two-legged walker introduced in The Empire Strikes Back and featured extensively in Return of the Jedi. Due to their design and movement, they are often dubbed "chicken walkers".

Another AT-AT delight! This one is for those long nights drinking hard - Star-Wars themed, George-Lucas approved - liquor and reminiscing about the good old days in the battle of Hoth. While you're drinking alcohoth you could be admiring this custom-made wooden AT-AT liquor cabinet made by Colin Johnson! Well done Colin, another fine example of The Force being harnessed for good not evil.
